It's all go

Well, work has started with a bang, feeling a bit crazy from both my jobs and college all starting again in the same week!

On a happier note I had a great Christmas with lots of games and even laser quest in the garden with my brother in law, the best bits being when in the dark he got caught out by the security light and when the dog attacked him, although he still won, both times.

I spent new year in the city of Brussels (spent the actual big hour in the grand palace square - see picture), went on the Eurostar and stayed in the Hilton Hotel, was all very posh - partly because we went 1st class on the Eurostar. It included free drinks, i.e. Champagne & some top meals. Had foie grass on the way home, but didn't find it hugely appealing, I think I am a bit common! (No surprises for anyone who knows me). The main things that stood out for me on the day we left for London was that on the megabus at 6.30am some girl was sick and just left it in the middle of the bus for the next 2hours, not the most delightful smell! Then during the day I managed to get stuck in a toilet for 5mins! The rest of the trip was brill though. The picture is of me outside the cathedral, looking way too excitable for someone going to a cathedral.

Update on college - still don't think anyone knows my real age, I guess I am now sure that if I wanted to be I could be a great undercover detective. How many detectives would get away with doing an A'level course without anyone realising their real age?

N.B. new years resolution, to get a new & proper career, any suggestions?

great facial expression on that photo bex. You look like a deer thats been caught in the headlights!

Chavvy megabus to first class eurostar, what a juxtaposition! I followed you're example and went to Bruges in Belgium on the eurostar recently. Had a cool time seeing the sights and sampling the local beer and chocolate.

By the way do you know about fois gras? Its basically diseased goose liver. They overfeed geese until their livers get all fatty trying to deal with all the toxins in the body. Better that i tell you that after you've eaten it!

Take care,
Xx

Well, "Mr I know stuff" I did know that about foie grass, I once worked with a french girl who loved the stuff. And the knowledge didn't help while i was eating it either.

Was Jane surprised with the Brussels trip? Got any special valentines plans?

She was surprised. She found out on the Underground on the way to Waterloo as i was shuffling through the papers - oops! It was rush hour on the tube and she was really excited but couldn't scream and shout because she would've looked silly and probably caused a bomb alert or something!

btw, look at my new website if you're at a loose end: www.communityfood.co.uk
